CoAct is one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit for purpose employment services providers. Our national network of not-for-profit service partners works collaboratively with GPs and allied health professionals and together we’re supporting people across Australia to find and keep meaningful employment. 

How we work

We understand that GPs and allied health professionals handle a wide variety of tasks on behalf of patients. So it’s important to have access to the latest information about the resources and support services available for people with disability, or other barriers to finding and keeping a job.

The CoAct network is making a real difference in people’s lives by seamlessly delivering free Employment Services programs including Disability Employment Services. We have a proven track record of serving communities with empathy and respect, listening to the preferences and aspirations of every single person we interact with. We are committed to connecting people with tailored support that helps them find a job that suits their individual needs as they strive for personal independence through employment. 

We’re consistently achieving outstanding results as we help people find work, stay employed, or identify suitable new careers. 

Our friendly, experienced team will provide expert advice to help your patients successfully: 

  • Find a suitable job
  • Navigate the workplace environment
  • Tap into workplace modification schemes
  • Mediate issues with employers.

Refer your client to CoAct and we’ll help them to overcome employment barriers and secure meaningful employment.

Who is eligible?

Each of our programs has different eligiblity criteria. Your client may be eligible for Disability Employment Services (DES) if they are:
  • living with a disability, mental health condition, treated illness or injury that makes it difficult to find and keep a job. This includes living with anxiety or depression, neurodivergence including ADHD and autism, a physical or intellectual disability, learning difficulties, visual or hearing impairment.
  • an Australian citizen or hold a permanent resident, or on a Temporary Protection, Special Category or Safe Haven Visa.
  • aged between 14 and 67.
  • able to work at least 8 hours per week and no more than 30. 
  • are receiving an income support payment.

Make a referral to CoAct

Step 1 Permission
Speak with your client or family member and obtain their permission to refer them to CoAct employment services.
Step 2 Refer
Complete the referral form or call 1800 226 228 to chat with our referral team.
Step 3 Discuss
Our team will contact your client to discuss their employment needs.
Step 4 Support
Their employment support begins with CoAct.
