Transition to Work is a government program that helps young people aged 15 – 24 years old into work, apprenticeships, training and education. CoAct and Youth Projects work together to deliver this program in Western Melbourne. Our main Youth Hubs are located in Sunshine, Werribee and Melton. 

We are youth specialists and provide tailored, intensive support to young people on their journey to work. We offer flexible, inclusive servicing and have local expertise and strong community connections. 

Our support includes:  

  • Dedicated Youth Coach, who listens and tailors support to your unique needs 
  • Holistic support, connecting you to allied and mental health services, housing, rehabilitation and more 
  • Work experience opportunities, internships and job-specific training 
  • Job search help, including resume and cover letter writing and interview preparation 
  • Personal and professional development with workshops and individual support for building your life skills 
  • Financial assistance for items that get you work-ready 
  • Local employer connections, so you can build your network 
  • Ongoing support to help you stay in work 

Am I eligible for Workforce Australia - Transition to Work?

You may be eligible for personalised support via Workforce Australia - Transition to Work if you are:
  • aged between 15 to 24.
  • have Australian citizenship or an appropriate visa.

Eligibility also depends on your individual circumstances, including whether you:

  • have a Year 12 certificate or equivalent, such as a Certificate III.
  • have been employed within the last 6 months.
  • are receiving an income support payment such as Youth Allowance.
  • are participating in another employment service.
