Supporting efforts in fostering inclusivity and increasing workforce diversity.
In May 2024 the Motor Trades Association Queensland (MTA Queensland), CoAct and Multicultural Australia were awarded a Queensland Government grant focused on enhancing the representation of people with disabilities, Indigenous individuals, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, and women in the automotive industry.
The grant specifically targets the following regions of Queensland:
- Townsville
- Sunshine Coast
- Darling Downs
- Greater Brisbane region.
Employers in these regions within the motor trade industry have been experiencing a significant number of unfilled vacancies. The aim of this grant is to empower employers to better support the success of individuals from these underrepresented groups in the workplace.
This will be achieved through education and support provided by CoAct, our Service Partner teams, and an Industry Workforce Advisor employed by MTA Queensland.
