Our Reconciliation Action Plan starts with the ‘Reflect’ stage. This represents the beginning of our journey and will help us form a framework for building stronger relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the wider Australian community.

Our values of Leadership, Collaboration, Creativity, Respect and Integrity will guide our approach. By having the courage to shape a better future, challenging ourselves to think differently, showing respect and valuing everyone that we work with and the contribution they can make.

To celebrate the launch of our Reconciliation Action Plan, we’re also launching an Indigenous logo. Created by an experienced Indigenous creative agency, Moogie Down Productions, the logo tells the story of our jobseekers and pays respect to our First Nations peoples.

The artwork is made up of two meeting circles joined by journey lines. Meeting circles are important symbolism for many First Nations groups. They symbolise coming together, knowledge transfer, learning and growth. The journey lines represent the journey for each of our customers.

The colour palette is organic and symbolic of water (blue), foliage (teal), desert (red), rocky escarpment and beaches (orange) and soil (brown). These colours represent land and sea Country across Australia.

Simon Brown, CoAct CEO, says, “CoAct is very proud to be endorsed by Reconciliation Australia for its Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Among many of our intended actions during this time are recognising and partnering with Supply Nation registered suppliers, providing more in-depth and ongoing cultural competence training for all employees, and building a deeper connection to our local communities through relationships with traditional owners and custodians of the lands and their elders.

CoAct’s values encourage us to continually improve and care for the community. Our RAP outlines steps in which we seek to achieve these virtues. As we go on this journey for our growth and better understanding, we look to advance reconciliation efforts through the core pillars of relationships, respect, and opportunities.

We hope our RAP will provide tangible and substantive benefits for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, increasing economic equity and support for First Nations self-determination. Reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians.
