Welcome to Work

Starting a job can be both exciting and challenging. Our job is to make sure you feel confident and supported as you step into your new role.

Supporting you in your new job

We’re here for as long as you need us, so you can thrive at work.

Support as unique as you

We’ll help you:

  • settle in and support you and your employer for the first year and beyond
  • stay in your role and ensure it continues to suit your career goals and personal needs
  • check in regularly to help you plan your career path for the long-term.

Our support continues to be tailored and flexible, so it fits easily into your new working life. We can check in by phone, email or at your workplace – whatever suits you.

Before starting and in your first six months of work is usually when our most intensive support happens. This is when your Workforce Retention Consultant will:

  • prepare you for work, including understanding your new role and workplace requirements
  • make sure you’ve got reliable transport and any equipment, licences or identification you need for your job
  • organise your induction and any training needed
  • help you and your employer access funding for workplace modifications, assistive technology and other support services
  • work with any health and community services needed to help you stay in work.

Checking in

Your Workforce Retention Consultant will check in with you regularly. Some of the things they’ll talk
to you about include:

  • how you’re settling into your role and the workplace
  • whether you need any support from health or community services
  • your hourly rate
  • how many hours you’re working each week
  • whether you’ve had any breaks in employment, time off or have an upcoming holiday.

We’re here to help you enjoy your job, build a great relationship with your employer and succeed. Please talk to us about any issues you have.
