Frequently Asked Questions

What is NDIS Support Coordination?

Support coordination is an NDIS-funded service that helps you understand your plan, connect with providers, and make the most of your supports to achieve your goals.

Who can access NDIS Support Coordination services?

You can access support coordination if it is included in your NDIS plan. It is typically funded under Capacity Building supports.

What does a Support Coordinator actually do?

A support coordinator helps you understand your plan, connect with services, coordinate supports, resolve issues, and build your confidence to manage supports independently over time.

Can I change or switch my Support Coordinator?

Yes, you can change your support coordinator at any time if you feel the service is not the right fit. Your service agreement will outline the notice period required.

Can I switch to CoAct if I already have a Support Coordinator?

Yes. You have the right to change your Support Coordinator at any time. We can help make the transition straightforward and manage the handover so nothing falls through the gaps.

Can a support coordinator help me find new providers?

Yes. A key part of their role is helping you find providers that match your needs, preferences, and goals.

What happens in my first meeting with my Support Coordinator?

Your first meeting usually focuses on understanding your goals, reviewing your NDIS plan, and identifying the supports you need to get started.

What if something isn’t working with my supports?

Your support coordinator can help resolve issues, adjust services, or find alternative providers if needed.

Do you have Support Coordinators in Sydney?

Yes. We support participants in Sydney and surrounding areas via telehealth — by phone, video call or online. If you are looking for a Support Coordinator in Sydney, get in touch and we will explain how it works.

Do I need to be in Brisbane to use CoAct?

No. We offer in-person support at our Stones Corner office in Brisbane and at locations on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, with telehealth services available across QLD, NSW and VIC. Most coordination can be done by phone or online.

How do I know if I have Support Coordination funding in my plan?

Look for “Support Coordination” or “CB: Support Coordination” in your NDIS plan. If you are not sure, contact us and we will help you check.

We support self-managed and plan-managed participants — what does that mean?

If your plan is self-managed, you pay invoices directly using your NDIS funding. If it is plan-managed, your plan manager pays on your behalf. We work with both. If you are not sure how your plan is managed, just ask us and we will explain it clearly.

What happens after I get in touch?

We will contact you within one business day to have a conversation about your plan and what you are looking for. There is no pressure — it is just a chance to see if we are a good fit.

Is there a cost to me for Support Coordination?

Support coordination is funded from your NDIS plan, not out of your own pocket. We charge in line with the NDIS Price Guide, and everything is explained clearly in your service agreement before you start.

What is the difference between Support Coordination and Specialist Support Coordination?

Support Coordination (Level 2) helps you understand your plan and coordinate your supports. Specialist Support Coordination is for participants with more complex needs and involves a higher level of expertise to manage risks and coordinate supports in challenging situations. We offer both — get in touch and we can help you work out which is right for you.
