What is Disability Employment Services (DES)?

The Disability Employment Services (DES) program is funded by the Australian government and assists over 310,000 job seekers with disability, illness or injury to get and keep employment. CoAct and our network of service partners meet regularly with DES participants to ensure they get the personalised support they need, including:

  • Preparing for work (Employment Assistance)
  • Settling into work (Post Placement Support)
  • Continued assistance (Ongoing Support)

People living with disability may be eligible for one of two different DES programs depending on their disability:

  • DES – Employment Support Services is for people who have a permanent disability, illness or injury. It gives you long-term, regular ongoing support to find and keep a job.
  • DES – Disability Management Services is for people who have a disability, illness or injury who need occasional support to find and keep a job.

CoAct is a leading not-for-profit Disability Employment Services (DES) provider.
