Seaorni’s goal to get back on his feet
Seaorni started with CoAct Connect + BUSY At Work Browns Plains in August 2025. At the time, he was facing serious barriers to employment. He was dealing with personal challenges and financial hardship due to not having stable, ongoing work.
Until early January 2026, Seaorni was living in a caravan at a caravan park. It was not safe or suitable for long term housing. With limited income and very little support around him, he was at risk of homelessness.
I just want to get back on my feet. Seaorni shared.

A tough setback but still motivated
At the start of the year, the Site Leader supported Seaorni to replace his driver’s licence so he could use it for job applications. While they were at the Department of Transport, they spoke about his work history and current situation.
Seaorni explained that he had recently experienced major hardship. His caravan and vehicle had been stolen, along with his personal belongings and work tools. It was a huge setback.
Despite everything, Seaorni stayed focused on his goal. He wanted to return to work in his trade. He has experience as a handyperson, in property maintenance, and in rendering work. Transport was a challenge because many jobs required travel to different sites, but he remained determined.
The Site Leader and his Mentor James encouraged him to stay positive and promised to work closely together to find the right opportunity.
The right opportunity at the right time
Soon after, a local employer visited the BUSY At Work Beenleigh site. They were looking for a full time, permanent handyperson. The employer said that attitude and willingness to work were most important, and that a company vehicle could be provided for the right person.
The Site Leader immediately thought of Seaorni.
They helped him update his resume to highlight his skills and strong work ethic. His application was sent through, and he secured an interview on 28 January 2026. The very next day, the employer called to offer him the job.
In the lead up to his first day, the Site Leader and Mentor supported Seaorni to organise his PPE, tools, police check and Blue Card so he could start without delay.
Seaorni shared his gratitude in messages to the Site Leader.
Thank you very much I really appreciate it, and this means a lot as I’m finally going to be back on my feet.
In another message he wrote, “Thank you that will be awesome, thank you very much it’s been a blessing with your help.” Today, Seaorni is back in work and building stability again. His story shows that even after major setbacks, the right support and a positive attitude can help someone rebuild their future.
