The Hairdressing and Barbering sector offers a variety of positions, catering to different skill levels and specialties. Here are some common roles in this industry:

    • Junior/Apprentice Hairdresser: Entry-level role where individuals learn the trade through hands-on experience, typically under the supervision of a senior stylist.
    • Hairdresser/Stylist: A professional who cuts, colours, and styles hair according to client preferences. They may also offer services like blow-drying, straightening, and hair treatments.
    • Senior Hairdresser/Stylist: A more experienced stylist who may also mentor junior staff, manage appointments, and handle more advanced hair techniques, including precision cutting or complex colour treatments.
    • Barber: Specialises in cutting, trimming, and styling men’s hair and beards. Some barbers also offer services like hot towel shaves and beard shaping.
    • Salon Manager: Responsible for the day-to-day running of a salon, including staff management, customer service, inventory control, and ensuring the salon meets safety and hygiene standards.
    • Colour Specialist: Focuses on hair colouring services, including highlights, lowlights, balayage, and colour corrections. They often have advanced knowledge of hair chemistry and products.
    • Hair Extension Specialist: Specialises in applying and styling hair extensions using various techniques such as fusion, tape-in, or sew-in methods.
