Rebuilding after a life-changing setback

Corenna’s recent commencement as a Customer Experience Coordinator at CoAct Connect + BUSY At Work marks a significant milestone in a career journey defined by resilience, adaptability and a commitment to helping others.

Following a stroke in 2017, Corenna faced substantial challenges, including impacts on her communication, her ability to use a telephone, and her capacity to drive for several months. Despite these obstacles, she remained focused on her long-term employment goals and worked steadily towards rebuilding her confidence and independence. Throughout this period, CoAct Connect + BUSY At Work provided ongoing support, including assistance with transport costs, helping Corenna remain connected to opportunities and continue progressing towards employment.

A wealth of experience, and a desire for change

Corenna brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having worked across approximately 33 positions in five Australian states. Her diverse employment background spans a range of industries, including logistics, hospitality, floristry, administration, medical reception, retail sales, wholesale plant nurseries, caravan park management and real estate. After spending the past five years in logistics, Corenna decided it was time for a career change and sought an opportunity where she could use her extensive life and work experience to support others.

Motivated by a genuine desire to help people, Corenna recognised the value of her broad skillset and her ability to build strong connections with others, qualities that have proven to be a natural fit within the employment services sector.

Settling in and giving back

Since commencing in her role as a Customer Experience Coordinator, Corenna has settled in well, building positive relationships with both colleagues and customers. She has embraced the opportunity to contribute to a supportive workplace environment while developing new skills and knowledge within the industry.

Corenna’s employment outcome highlights the value of perseverance, transferable skills, and the confidence to pursue a new career pathway.
