Accessibility Statement

This is an accessibility statement from CoAct (Formerly Job Futures).

CoAct is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people living with disability. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards to support inclusive access to our digital services.

As of February 2026, coact.org.au has been assessed as conforming to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. CoAct recognises the new specific guidelines of WCAG 2.2 AA and have a commitment to work towards meeting these standards within the next 12 months.

We are currently progressing enhancements and review processes to align with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, and we regularly review and improve our website to support evolving standards and user needs.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. WCAG defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

CoAct’s website currently conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Accessibility assessments have included:

  • Automated accessibility scanning tools

  • Manual keyboard navigation testing

  • Manual review of structure, headings, and alternative text

  • Review of colour contrast requirements

  • Ongoing template and form accessibility improvements

We are working toward alignment with WCAG 2.2 Level AA and continue to incorporate updated success criteria into our development processes.

Measures to support accessibility

CoAct takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Embed accessibility considerations into website design, development, and content workflows

  • Provide accessibility training and guidance to relevant staff

  • Assign accessibility responsibilities within digital and content teams

  • Conduct regular accessibility reviews using a combination of automated and manual testing methods

  • Engage external accessibility expertise where required

Our accessibility efforts

  • Accessibility toolbar: The Recite Me cloud-based technology toolbar on the CoAct website makes the website more digitally inclusive by allowing visitors to customise the content so that they can consume it in ways that work best for them. It includes Text to speech (TTS), translation, reading aids, styling and customisation.
  • Screen reader compatibility: We are working to ensure that all content, images, and links are accessible to screen readers. This includes providing accurate alt text for images and meaningful link descriptions.
  • Keyboard navigation: Our website is designed to be navigable by keyboard alone. All menus, links, and forms can be accessed using keyboard navigation to accommodate users with mobility impairments.
  • Colour contrast: We use high-contrast colours and large fonts to enhance readability for users with visual impairments. This includes careful selection of colours to meet contrast requirements.
  • Accessible forms: We are redesigning our forms with accessibility in mind, including clear labels, instructions, and error messaging to support users who rely on assistive technology.
  • Video and audio content: For any video or audio content, we aim to provide captions, transcripts, or alternative formats to make our content accessible to all users.
