The CoAct Connect site is based in Stones Corner, an area rich in cultural diversity and just 6km from Brisbane CBD. There are, however, many challenges for those living in the area, including affordable housing and sustainable employment.

The CoAct Connect team offer intensive and tailored employment services to help individuals build their confidence, skills and employability. This involves matching you with a Mentor who’ll help you unpack your skills, strengths, challenges and training needs. Then comes a plan with the end goal of getting you a job.

There may be other areas of life you need support with in order to find employment. We can co-ordinate specialist services for housing, health, counselling, and family support. We also continue to be there for you during the first 26 weeks of your employment or study. We’re by your side every step of the way.

Our Stones Corner team has already established strong community connections to help people get ready for work, including relationships with:

  • allied health professionals
  • mental health specialists
  • community centres
  • parenting programs
  • domestic violence support services
  • volunteer organisations
  • Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).

They’ll also be delivering weekly workshops to build your skills, get you job-ready and help you pursue the career you want. These workshops cover topics like digital literacy, interview skills, body language and active listening.

Program Manager, Renee Smith, tells us about job opportunities in the area, “We have a wide range of roles ready to be filled. These include jobs in retail, hospitality, factories, administration, aged care, individual support, and more. We’ll have opportunities available from Monday 4 July – the day Workforce Australia begins.”

Here’s what the CoAct Connect Stones Corner team looks like:
